Gisou! It’s the only hair oil people are talking about lately! It’s been about 7 months since I’ve purchased the Gisou Honey Infused Hair Oil, and here are my thoughts!
Let's cut to the chase...
So, the packaging got me really excited for the product! It was pretty cute, but what came next was a little disappointing. Before I could even try the product, I ran into a wee widdle problem. The dropper seemed to need an extremely hard squeeze to get enough product in the pipette. For the price tag of $100 (which includes shipping) shit like this shouldn't happen, right?!
Anyway, first impression is that the product has a very nice and luxurious smell. It’s subtle, but potent enough to linger throughout the day. Immediately after you shimmy it into your hair, you can feel the softness of the product, especially on your hands after applying it. It’s nice. For a couple of days, I was really digging the hair oil, and I felt like a queen applying it in my locks (with the exception of squeezing the damn dropper like a stubborn zit). Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks, my hair definitely changed, and not for the better. My hair felt SO plastic-y, and, quite frankly, GROSS! I stopped using it, and things went back to normal.
I was so confused because I genuinely thought the product was more nautural than not. I mean, on their website they proudly share the “Key Ingredients” as “Mirsalehi Honey, Almond Oil, and Coconut Oil”. (BTW, “key” was the keyword (no pun intended). Those ingredients were not the entire list.) When I finally read the ingredients, It ALLLL made sense LOL. Although the ingredients list has the Mirsalehi honey as the third ingredient, there are two types of silicones preceding it. Ugh, along with fragrance, and other additives I just DON'T want to use in my hair like coloring!! Feel free to see the list below. .
If I’m being 100% honest, I’m just not a fan, and I hate that I don’t love this product, because I’m such a fan of Negin! I think the bottle is cute af, too, so I decided to at least take photos of the product with Jeanne, and at least share my thoughts with you guys.
