Aye, it's the SKWAAAAA(minus one, Michelle I gotchyu)! When you have best friends that have a deep passion for aesthetic and unleashing creativity, we have group photoshoots! We love going on SQUADVENTURES depending on how we feel. Sometimes we're feelin' shakka, DIY-or-DIE, bustin' a move, or sometimes we just wanna find an aesthetically pleasing spot to take pictures at. A couple weekends ago we decided to head to the Design District to take some blahg photos and have some brunch afterwards (even though brunch turned into lunch), so here's what I wore that day.
I recently bought this maroon leather pencil skirt, which by the way I will not be wearing again until the weather cools down due to high levels of perspiration (TMI? Too bad, HEHE). I initially bought this for an Engineering Conference I'll be attending next week, but I wanted to style it up for a casual day. So, I decided to pair it with a casual tee, and an oversized plaid button down as my "outerwear". Since I wanted to keep the color palette of this look in the dark and brown-y tones (and since there was gold on my plaid button down) I decided to wear gold jewelry. I've been loving the look of wearing a lot of dainty pieces, especially rings, so I tried to do that. To wrap everything up, I wanted make the look more relaxed by pairing it with my slip on Vans. I can't stop wearing them it's a little ridiculous.
I think it's pretty obvious that I like dressing down feminine pieces, and giving them a little hit with the tomboy vibe. That's just who I am :). I urge you all to mix it up a bit and style edgier textures with something more casual, and almost pair things with the opposite of what you usually would. I hope I could give you some inspo!
