Swim Week Roundup 2016 + OOTD
Hi everyone! This is looonnnnnng overdue, but better late than never, right?! 😅 This year, my beloved Squad and I decided to take advantage of Swim Week and see what we could get out of it. Turns out, there were so many free events, and I couldn't wait to share them with you all! I also was able to take some pics of my outfit from Day 2. Read on to find out how we maximized our experience at Miami Swim Week 2016!
DAY 1
Planning what we were gonna do was hilarious because of how stressful it was. There was an overwhelming amount of free events we could attend, and planning was almost as stressful as studying for finals, LOL. ANYWAY...Day 1 was so much fun. Natasha Oakley and Devin Brugman were having a pop-up shop for their bikini line Monday Swimwear , and their active wear Monday Active at Soho Beach House in South Beach. Squadded up, Yash, Belle, Guti, and I walked into the penthouse and instantly started feeling the humidity and started sweating LOL. The room was filled with Frank Body products (which were apparently FREE AF), rosé (oh hell yeah), and TASH AND DEV WERE THERE THEMSELVES! (I'm seriously re-living all of this as I type this blog post and I'm hyped af) Seeing someone you admire so much on Instagram (aesthetic AF) is so surreal. Tash and Dev are just as gorgeous as they are on their Instagram, and literally glow, it's insane. (Why can't the Miami humidity do that for me? Instead of giving me that glow, my face just mass-produces oil *rolls eyes*) We snagged some Frank Bod goodies, checked out the line, and then headed down to the rooftop pool for the PitUsa party we saw going on (spotted Shea Marie of peaceloveshea.com there!) The party had a braid bar, groovy deep house tunes, and the most amazing view to the sunset that evening.
DAY 2
After such a fun night the day before, my friends and I were so stoked for what we had planned today. Shay was nice enough to invite me with her to have brunch with Tash and Dev at the same penthouse we went to on Day 1! We grabbed more Frank Bod products, ate a fat brunch (eggs, avocado, and fruit), drank some rosé, and enjoyed the view! Oh, I also splurged on my very first bikini from Monday Swimwear! Natasha and Devin were so nice, they helped me pick out which bikini worked for my small bust and pancake ass (hehe), and, honestly, it was a really awesome experience! Post-brunch Shay and I took some outfit photos (below) and then I had to rush to meet Belle and "Jeannes the Queannes" at a pool party at the Nautilus Hotel! I was such a mess, lol, I did a quick and ratchet outfit change in the bathroom, and managed to get a quick charge for my phone in the bathroom while I was changing. The best thing about Swim Week is all the goodies they give out, and at this pool party there were Stila products and Rosé pops for FREE! I'm not gonna lie, some of these events are super nice/cute, but it's kind of a bummer because nobody dances when music plays, and everyone comes off as standoff-ish! So, we quickly left after that, but the freebies made up for the bougie vibe. Post-pool party, we decided to make a pit stop at the 1 hotel which we've all been dying to go to, and it did not disappoint. The SMELL of that place is freaking incredible, let alone the interior design, and we also spotted Brody Jenner!
Day 3
Day 3 was definitely more chill, and I splurged (yet, again) on another bikini. Nishita, Belle, and I started our morning off with Yoga at the 1 hotel on their rooftop pool-deck. We were tight on time, and as we were walking to the bathrooms for an outfit change, we made the ultimate "spotting" and saw the gorgeous Rocky Barnes eating lunch by the pool on the rooftop. We rushed to another event at Soho Beach House and MISSED IT, so we went back to the 1 to have lunch on the rooftop, and Dr. Smood was serving a special drink that came in a Swell bottle, and we scored a free class to Soul Cycle (F**K YEAH)! We then went to the Setai for a little event they were having. There, I spotted Ola Feroz Swimwear, and HADDDD to get a bikini 😭😭. Kidding, obviously I didn't, but dzang, ya girl can be impulsive AF! We also stopped at the W for a Bikini Beer Garden event they were having, but showed up too late and missed that one too (Miamians and our punctuality, amirite?)
I hope my lengthy roundup of 2016's Swim Week wasn't too boring for you guys!
xx,
Kuza
